Use of funds
Thanks to the trust and support of donors, Sdarovia Hospital Foundation has raised over $2,477 of donations in 2008 and helped more than 1320 patients across Kinshasa. As we are able to keep administrative expenses at only 1% and fundraising costs at 3%, over 96% of donations ($2,378) were directly used in various emergency relief and development programmes to improve the livelihood of the patients coming to our Hospital.To enable donors and the general public to understand how donations are effectively and properly used, we have prepared a Financial Highlights of 2008 and Frequently Asked Questions on our use of funds (see below). We hope that by being a transparent and accountable charitable organisation, you can join hands with us to help more needy children and families in Kinshasa.
In 2008, $2,378 was used for : 1) funding of renovation or upgrading of Sdarovia Hospital's premises, furniture and equipment required for service delivery and 2) projects to build capability amongst nurses to professionalise the social service of the hospital.
In total, the amount of donations that were expended was $2,477 (administrative expenses and fundraising costs included).
Does the money I give actually
get through?
YES! Sdarovia Hospital manages all projects and donations by
its own staff and there are rigorous processes to ensure that donations
are not lost to corruptive bodies. In addition, audits are conducted
every year to account for every dollar received and we have a policy of
hiring auditors of the highest professional reputation to ensure our
financial statements give a true and fair view of the state of our
organisation.
Can I Choose Where My Money
Goes?
We gather contributions together until we have enough funds for an
entire project. Once we allocate your donation to a specific project ,
we tell you exactly where your money went. You will receive an activity
report for ‘your‘ project and project completion
report.
What Happens to My Money?
96% of your donation is passed on to our hospital.
We can do this because we are able to keep administrative expenses at
